Maritime transport emissions; cargo ship at sea

In this business briefing, we’re investigating whether ETS incentivises shipping companies to switch towards lower carbon fuels. And we explore whether an increase in ETS price will promote the uptake of alternative fuels in the future.

Our study considered the forecasted EU ETS price in comparison to the price of LNG, e-methanol, and e-ammonia to establish at what point ETS would provide a financial incentive to switch to these fuels.
