Royal HaskoningDHV, in collaboration with the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Projects of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, today announced the official launch of the Wastewater Collection, Treatment, and Drainage System for the Phu My New Urban Area in Phu My Town. Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Phu My Town has been facing growing environmental challenges due to rapid development of new residential areas, industrial zones and sea ports. Untreated wastewater from industrial zones and residential areas has strained local infrastructure, impacting both the quality of life for residents and the region’s sustainable development. The construction of this modern wastewater treatment plant is a critical solution to these challenges, helping to protect the environment and support economic growth.
Mr. Tran Thanh Tinh, Director of the Department of Project Management Major Civil and Industry of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said: “We are very pleased to see the Wastewater Collection, Treatment, and Drainage System officially in operation after five years of construction. The Phu My wastewater treatment plant is powered by Royal HaskoningDHV's state-of-the-art Carrousel® technology, designed to have a processing capacity of 30,000 cubic metres per day.
