Celebrating a new London office in historic Bermondsey

Royal HaskoningDHV is thrilled to announce the official opening of its new office in the vibrant borough of Southwark, London. On Thursday 2nd May 2024, a celebratory opening event was held together with some of the organisation’s key clients, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Very Reverend Dr. Mark Oakley, Dean of Southwark Cathedral. Senior leaders from across the organisation, including CEO Marije Hulshof, CFO Jasper de Wit, and UK Resident Director Jon Robinson, were also in attendance.

The new office, nestled in the historically rich area of Bermondsey in Southwark, is built on the site of the former Bermondsey Abbey, the origin of which dates back to the 8th century. The new location not only pays homage to the past but provides a modern and forward-thinking environment where creativity and innovation can flourish. It will also enhance Royal HaskoningDHV’s relationship with several longstanding clients located in the area.

Unlike the previous London office, which was spread across four floors, the new office unites the team in a single, cohesive working space. This represents a dynamic shift towards a more integrative way of working for colleagues.

Jon continues: “We are excited about being part of the Bermondsey community and the opportunities that this new office will present in helping us achieve our vision of Enhancing Society Together."

Strategically located just a 10-minute walk from London Bridge, the new office also offers excellent transport links, ensuring greater accessibility, whilst supporting the company in achieving its environmental goals and net-zero commitments.

In line with its circular thinking philosophy, Royal HaskoningDHV ensured that the transition to the new office was made with reusing and repurposing in mind. All furniture from the previous London office found a new lease of life following donation to charity, underscoring the company’s dedication to sustainability and social value.
