Green Volt Floating Offshore Windfarm is a frontrunner project designed for early decarbonisation of offshore oil and gas platforms in the North Sea, while creating green power to the UK grid. Operational in 2027, with a minimum nominal capacity of up to 560 MW, Green Volt will make a significant contribution towards:
Royal HaskoningDHV were appointed the role of Offshore Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) lead in 2021 to take the project through the offshore environmental scoping and Offshore EIA phases required to submit the applications for consent to the regulators. Throughout the EIA process, Royal HaskoningDHV and Green Volt Floating Offshore Windfarm remained in close communication with regulators and stakeholders to ensure the project was delivered ethically and sustainably, and to regulatory requirements.
The Green Volt project is a trailblazer, pushing the boundaries of floating offshore windfarms, making long term direct contributions to Royal HaskoningDHV’s sustainability goal: Enhancing Society Together.
Our expertise enabled a robust assessment of the EIA process which supported and enabled our client to submit for consent within the project’s ambitious timeframe. This, in turn, supported Green Volt Floating Offshore Windfarm’s goal to make maximum contributions towards Scotland’s 2045 Net Zero target and the North Sea Transition Deal goal.
