Royal HaskoningDHV and local Partner Portcoast have been assigned the Feasibiity Study and Basic Design of the Seaport Facilities for this plant. The design scope included at least 3 jetties for import vessels with feedstock for the plant and for export of liquid petrochemical and chemical products as well a coal vessel receiving facility and a construction quay. The very shallow foreshore and the complex network of delta rivers flowing and out of the bay create a challenging environment for Haskoning and PortCoast experts to come up with the optimal location ad orientation of jetties, access channels and turning basins and possible breakwaters of sedimentation groynes. Another major challenge is the integration of an optimised LSP seaport with the overall masterplan of the Ganh Rai bay taking into account a future refinery and general cargo terminal projects.
