New future-proof factory for Lotus Bakeries in Thailand

We were contracted to develop Lotus Bakeries’ third international Lotus Biscoff plant in Thailand. The plant enables Lotus Bakeries to respond faster and better to local opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Royal HaskoningDHV develops new future-proof Lotus Bakery factory in Thailand

The new factory provides the needed additional capacity to bring fresher Lotus Biscoff cookies to the consumer while further reducing the ecological footprint of the company. Environment and sustainability will be at the heart of Royal HaskoningDHV’s design, as well as quality, safety and health. The design anticipates features like solar panels, recycling of heated water and waste heat recovery and the use of sustainable production methods and materials.
Besides the design of the plant, the scope of Royal HaskoningDHV includes procurement, construction and project management.

The facility in Thailand will be the first to fulfil the immense growth potential of the classic (since 1932) Lotus Biscoff Cookies in the large and growing consumer markets of Asia-Pacific.

Royal HaskoningDHV Director Business Unit Multinationals René Dahmen said, ‘We couldn’t be any happier about developing this sustainable partnership with Lotus Bakeries. Their guiding vision of ‘Care for Today – Respect for Tomorrow’ goes hand-in-hand with our purpose of Enhancing Society Together. We are proud to be able to tap into our own experience in manufacturing, digital technology and sustainable business development to bring this future-proof manufacturing plant to life.’
