What you do as a Process Technologist Sludge Treatment

     Due to the fast growth of the Bioresources advisory group, we need to expand our team of process technologists in support of our projects. To this end, there is a vacancy for a Process Technologist Sludge Treatment, who will work closely together with the other process technologists and report to the Technical Director.

The process technologist has various tasks and responsibilities:

  • process engineering and design of new Ephyra® or Helea® installations including items such as the process design calculations, and the mass and energy balances
  • as part of the design team, participates in the set-up of the technical design such as the process flow diagram, the P&ID’s, the equipment and instruments list, the control philosophy and narrative, etc.
  • assist the sales team in new projects by preparing the preliminary process design and business case and attending meetings with the client when needed
  • assist in the start-up, operation, and follow-up of new installations
  • assist and accompany tests where lab or pilot tests are done to support new developments or designs
  • participate in further development of our technologies and portfolio as part of the group of process technologists within the Bioresources unit

As our new Process Technologist Sludge Treatment, you will become part of the Water Technology Products business unit or team.

     The Business Unit (BU) Water Technology Products (WTP) of the Business Line Water & Maritime delivers water technology products like Nereda®, Ephyra® and Aquasuite® all over the world. With the ambitions of growth of our technology portfolio, we are looking for a colleague to strengthen our team for these exciting projects. We are a very international oriented BU, with colleagues of more than 10 nationalities working in different countries around the world.


     In this WTP Business Unit, you will be part of the Bioresources advisory group which focuses on improving the sludge line of these installations with specific products such as Ephyra®, Helea®, and Kaumera®. The Bioresources advisory group currently has over 20 projects in 6 countries and is growing fast with a global span.

What you bring

  • Education: higher education (B.Sc, M.Sc., PhD) in a relevant technical field
  • Professional Experience: 5 - 10 years in technical environment, preferably in (waste)water industry and especially sludge treatment processes and sludge digestion
  • Languages: excellent command of English is a must, a second or third language would be an advantage
  • Willing to travel for short-term assignments
  • Available to work in a hybrid arrangement (work from home and on office location)
  • Available to work 32-40 hours a week
