Royal HaskoningDHV was selected back in November 2015 to help create a vibrant community in a building which suited their needs perfectly. Our role was to guide through the contractual process with BPD, deliver stakeholder management as well as provide a programme of requirements for the whole building. Working with architects and technical advisors, our project team managed the contract to ensure that the final building will be completed to a high standard and creating value to all users.

René Karreman, Business Development Director at Royal HaskoningDHV commented: “We are delighted to be working on such a high profile project right here in Amsterdam, particularly given our extensive experience in supporting this sort of contract. It was our responsibility to set up the specifications for the building and support in the negotiations with the developer to come to a sound agreement. The new location will fit perfectly with’s growth plans.”

Royal HaskoningDHV has worked on a number of projects of this kind, including Shell’s new office building in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Unilever’s headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia and the University of Amsterdam on Roeters Island.

Royal HaskoningDHV will continue to work on the programme of requirements for the internal fit-out of the building, before construction works commences in December 2017. It is expected that building handover will take place in 2020.

The Oosterdokseiland region has seen huge developments over the last 15 years, with the likes of Vodafone, TomTom and settling in the neighbourhood. Facilities such as the Conservatory, a public library and a hotel also make the area attractive to the general public.
