NACO, a company of Royal HaskoningDHV has been selected to speak at the 21st annual Passenger Terminal EXPO, taking place in Stockholm, Sweden on 20-22 March 2018.

Rene Marey | Royal HaskoningDHVOn Day 2 of the conference, Rene Marey, Senior Airport Architect at NACO, Netherlands Airport Consultants, will present a Strategy for Western Sydney Aerotropolis. As Sydney’s new airport, Western Sydney Airport will do more than meet forecast aviation demand: it offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unlock Western Sydney’s economic potential.

Rene’s presentation will outline a strategy for the development of an ‘aerotropolis’ at Western Sydney Airport. This project is significant as it represents the largest single catalyst to attract new industries to Greater Sydney’s Western City. Success will require policies that can catalyse the economic development of the area with an aerotropolis development centred around the airport.

Peter Vorage | Royal HaskoningDHVAlso on Day 2, NACO Engineer, Peter Vorage will be joined by Yong Kiat Yeo, Senior Manager, Airport Development & Planning, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore to present on Preparing airports for the effects of climate change.

As climate change and its effects become apparent, it’s time to assess its impact on aviation and make plans. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore recognises that climate change poses potential challenges for airport assets and requires coordinated action. Together with stakeholders, CAAS and NACO developed an innovative strategy to map and mitigate climate change risks by: exploring international best practices; developing scenarios based on climate projections; identifying critical airport assets; assessing vulnerability; defining a whole-of-government adaptation pathway to enhance Singapore airports’ climate change resilience.

Join this session to learn about the impact of climate change on aviation and airport infrastructure and how an airport can enhance its resilience to climate change in an effective and holistic way.

We will also be exhibiting at the Expo at stand #1658, so come along and see how our experts are delivering the airports of the future.
