The company was shortlisted for three categories at the technology-focused awards and walked away with the ‘Best Use of Technology: Carbon Reduction’ award for its work in establishing its innovative Nereda® technology in a new plant for Anglian Water. The technology reduces the carbon footprint of wastewater treatment by 25 per cent.
Highly Commended twice last year – in the NCE100 2017 and the NCE TechFest 2017 event – the company is delighted to have secured an award win for Nereda at this year’s event.
Michael Jordan, UK Sales Manager – Nereda, Water Products & Innovation commented: “We’re delighted to have come away with this award win last night. Nereda is a great example of how the use of new technology can truly help businesses achieve their goals, and we were delighted to be able to celebrate with one of our clients Anglian Water!”
Richard Screaton, Project Deliver Manager at Anglian Water was also in attendance: “We are very pleased to have received this award particularly in the carbon reduction category as it recognises Anglian Water's, EPS's and Royal HaskoningDHV's commitment to improving sustainability throughout our operations.”
Royal HaskoningDHV was also shortlisted for two other awards: firstly, the ‘Environmental Impact Award’ for its pioneering work in creating digital Environmental Impact Statements. And secondly, the ‘Innovation of the Year: Water Systems’ award for the full-scale trial of Nereda technology for the Environment Agency as part of Thames Water’s delivery of the national Chemical Investigation Programme.
Casey Rutland, UK Digital Director at Royal HaskoningDHV added: “As a company we are embracing the digital revolution and the new opportunities that it brings to the built environment industry – particularly in collaboration and co-creation with our clients and partners. We’re actively exploring, driving and adopting the latest innovations. For Nereda to be recognised as leading the field is enormously rewarding and offers great encouragement to everyone at Royal HaskoningDHV.”
The awards formed part of NCE TechFest, a festival of innovation and technology on September 19 in London. The event featured presentations and an exhibition in which Royal HaskoningDHV took part, hosting a VR dome as part of the exhibition. Casey Rutland also facilitated a ‘fringe café’ debate on Embracing Big Data.
