Nereda® technology has been introduced into China with the commissioning of its first Nereda plant at Longyou Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, China.

Longyou WWTP required a capacity upgrade to treat increased flows and meet more stringent effluent standards. Nereda Authorized User BEIES, a subsidiary of Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (BEWG), the largest water company in China, provided the Nereda solution which includes two 4,000 m3 Nereda reactors treating municipal and industrial wastewater with a people equivalent of 67,000 persons.

The project started in early 2019 and was successfully commissioned in December 2019. The plant is now in the final stages of start-up and early performance data is very positive.

Hennie Erwee, Regional Sales Director for Nereda®: “The successful commissioning and start-up of Longyou WWTP is an important milestone in the role-out of the Nereda Technology in the People‘s Republic of China, and further strengthens the ties between BEIES, BEWG and Royal HaskoningDHV. We are looking forward to working together on many more Nereda Solutions across China.”.

Royal HaskoningDHV’s award-winning Nereda wastewater treatment solution is already being applied on five continents for municipal and industrial wastewater.
