Alex Ruijs is a senior consultant for electrical power and energy within the Maritime & Aviation team at Royal HaskoningDHV.
Mainly focused on port-based, industrial clients, Alex is committed to providing innovative solutions for future-proof and environmentally friendly energy systems. Since 2006 he has been working on shore power projects and on the opportunities offered by renewables such as wind power, solar systems and hydropower as they grow in importance.
Alex has also been heavily involved in the SusPorts project, working to reduce the energy-demand of RTG cranes in ports by means of electrification and the on-board installation of an energy storage system.
He has extensive international experience having worked in a number of different countries, from Belgium to Jamaica, from Peru to Vietnam.
