The TurkStream Gas Pipeline will transform how the growing energy needs of Turkey and south-east Europe are met in the future.
The TurkStream Gas Pipeline - Offshore Section will consist of two parallel gas pipelines stretching for 930 kilometres across the Black Sea, each with a diameter of 81 centimetres and an annual throughput capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters.
TurkStream will be the first pipeline of its size to be installed at a water depth of up to 2,200 metres. One of the pipelines will cater for the Turkish market, while the other will ensure reliable deliveries of Russian gas to the European markets.

Royal HaskoningDHV, operating in Turkey under the name ELC Group Inc, prepared the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the offshore section for the project owner South Stream Transport B.V.
Our expertise involved conducting field surveys to identify, assess and document potential environmental and social impacts of project activities. Extensive surveys and assessments were conducted with Turkish stakeholders, including government experts, (Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and fishing groups so as to ensure that stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment on the project.
These findings, along with the recommendations for the mitigation of the potential adverse impacts and enhancement of the beneficial ones, were used in the development of the EIA which was approved by The Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in October 2017.

The first line of the TurkStream Gas Pipeline, intended for the Turkish market, which is planned to be in service at the end of 2019. The second line will target gas supplies to countries in south-eastern Europe.
