Royal HaskoningDHV has extensive experience in designing, engineering and manufacturing water treatment and cooling systems. Availability of sufficient cooling capacity and adequate water of the right quality at an attractive cost always prevail in our solutions and designs.

Our expertise ranges from process water, cooling water make-up, softened and demineralised water and boiler feed water, up to production of ultrapure water for use in pharmacy and micro-electronics. We provide services in the whole project cycle; from system selection (according to the new IPPC Regulations and BREF industrial cooling systems), ecological impact studies, design and engineering, up to construction, start-up and optimisation.

Cool Toolbox

Our engineers at Royal HaskoningDHV are experts in the field of cooling water systems. Our services for all cooling water issues - like cooling water designs, make-up water, IPPC BREF Cooling, legionella - are combined in our Cool Toolbox.

Design and realisation

Our activities can be divided into design activities (the application of tools) and tools and services. The design includes cooling water piping and cooling water intake and outlet constructions, as well as specific hydraulic expertise regarding water hammer analyses and flow conditions.

Tools and services

Royal HaskoningDHV has extensive experience with the permit requirements, application of permits and all relevant procedures, thermal heat calculations, fish guiding systems, chemical dosing, filters, pumps and material selections.

We offer all the required expertise in-house and are able to do the complete design, engineering and realisation of your cooling water system. When doing so we take care of all power island interfaces, as well as all possible connections with the authorities. From design of inlet works up to design/construction of megawatt cooling towers, our specialists are at the head of the industry.
