The Royal Town Planning Institution (RTPI) South West are running their next training day on the 22nd May 2018 in Exeter. Royal HaskoningDHV’s Rufus Howard and Caroline Price will be delivering an exciting workshop on screening and scoping for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The RTPI South West ‘Delivering Development’ CPD training day offers a mix of practical “how to” sessions for both Development Management and Policy Planning from both a public and private perspective. This sold out event will be attended by over 200 people and will feature presentations and workshops on key areas of planning policy.
In their lively and interactive session Rufus Howard and Caroline Price of Royal HaskoningDHV will introduce a practical overview of how to screen and scope for EIA, before participants are split into multidisciplinary teams to role-play different actors in the development process. Using real case studies the groups will screen and scope a project before discussing the outcomes as a group. Following the introduction of the new 2017 EIA Regulations, screening for EIA is even more of a key issue for Local Planning Authorities and Developers alike. Rufus and Caroline will draw on their extensive experience of taking projects through the EIA process and highlight the risks and opportunities presented by the screening and scoping stages.
‘We’re delighted to be participating in this sold out training day and are looking forward to sharing out knowledge and experiences with planners across the South-West’
