The CILT Awards recognise and reward the most outstanding achievements by the very best individuals and organisations throughout the Logistics and Transport industry and is considered as the benchmark for excellence within the profession.

In Royal HaskoningDHV’s initial report, the international engineering consultancy presented the scale and impact of Covid-19 on travel patterns across the UK, split by geographical regions to allow for a comparison of different variables. The analysis provided insights into measured travel trends in the immediate phase of the lockdown restrictions and offered a look into future travel conditions.

The second report detailed a policy strategy framework which included a range of proven measures and case studies to shape the future of transport and sustainable mobility.

In the third report, Royal HaskoningDHV measured multi-modal travel as parts of the UK start to transition out of the lockdown restrictions and the structural changes which seem to have occurred. It also looked at the forces of change affecting transport networks and what can be done to make a positive change.

The most recent report set out the results of a comprehensive national survey on how people and businesses have reacted to the pandemic and explores their concerns and future plans as the UK transitions out of the restrictions and we head into the next normal.

Dr Marwan AL-Azzawi, Sector Lead Director – Mobility Transport & Planning at Royal HaskoningDHV, said:

"Since the UK went into lockdown in March, travel conditions have changed dramatically across the nation. Now more than ever, our towns, cities and rural areas must remain accessible without compromising residents’ quality of life, all while striving for environmental sustainability and without jeopardising previously made sustainability gains. Our reports highlight this issue and show authorities how transport forecasting linked to strategic and digital modelling can generate new insights and opportunities."

“It’s a real honour to be recognised at the CILT awards and I know just how hard our team have all worked over this difficult period to achieve the nomination. Best of luck to all involved.”

The nomination follows on from Royal HaskoningDHV’s 2019 Technology Innovation win at the awards for Flowtack – the traffic optimisation solution.

Now in the 28th year, the CILT Awards took the decision to move the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner from October 2020 to Wednesday 17 March 2021.
