The company has been involved in the successful delivery of many of the major developments at UK ports and terminals including the container terminal Liverpool2, work on Dover Harbour Board port capacity and the supervision of the design and reconstruction of Teesport No 1 Quay.

Royal HaskoningDHV is the lead sponsor of the networking drinks reception on the first day of the conference. Craig Huntbatch, Resident Director for the UK, will welcome guests to the reception and also be part of the judging panel for the event awards. The company also has an exhibition stand during the two-day event.

Mike Ramsay, Technical Director of Maritime and Aviation at Royal HaskoningDHV, will speak on the second day of the event at 2.25pm.
In his talk, Mike will explore the topic ‘Harnessing new technologies that improve port efficiencies’ and examining the latest emerging technologies and innovations in the industry.

Mike’s presentation will also look into areas including the use of automation technology worldwide and how it can be used in the UK; using big data to effectively improve decision making for port development; and cost reductions through approved efficiency.

Mike said: “Royal HaskoningDHV’s maritime experts understand the economic realities of ports and terminals and the need to work with the physical environment to create lasting solutions.

“We have extensive experience working not only in the UK, but also across Europe and the world, so my talk will include valuable information about how we have helped to develop ports in cities such as Rotterdam and Singapore and what learnings from these can be beneficial to the UK ports industry.”

Now in its 10th year, the UK Ports Conference is the leading event for the UK ports industry that brings together senior representatives from across the ports, shipping and maritime sectors to explore the opportunities and challenges facing the port sector, now and in the future.

The main theme of this year’s event is ‘Identifying opportunities for growth and delivering port infrastructure to support emerging markets and respond to trade and shipping patterns’.

The UK Ports Conference 2018 takes place at the Congress Centre in London on 22 and 23 May 2018.
