Royal HaskoningDHV will be exhibiting and presenting at this year’s Global Offshore Wind event in Manchester on 19 and 20 June. The company’s focus will be the new UK and European offshore wind sites that are emerging, the growing offshore wind market in the USA and beyond, and how a new strategic partnership will leverage its 15 years of European experience.

Royal HaskoningDHV will be at exhibition stand 74. The firm has formed a new partnership with Ecology & Environment Inc, a US-based environmental engineering consultancy, to share experience and learnings in offshore wind with a view to applying these in the USA and worldwide.

This opportunity is also the topic of the conference presentation being delivered by Alistair Davison, Renewable Energy Development Director at Royal HaskoningDHV. Entitled ‘Learning the Lessons: The challenges and opportunities of exporting European EIA and Permitting Experience’, the session will take place at 3.15pm on Tuesday 19 June in the Share Fair Theatre.

Alistair explained: “We’ve gained 15 years of experience in offshore wind development in Europe, with 100 per cent of our UK projects granted consent. If delivered in the right way, that insight can be of great assistance to ‘fast tracking’ elements of the EIA, permitting and development of projects in the USA and other emerging markets.

“Of course there are many challenges and differences; including permitting laws and procedures as well as the obvious environmental and cultural differences. But there are many areas where European experience of environmental impact and project development will be highly valuable.”

KC Sahl, Offshore Wind Principal of Ecology & Environment Inc., said: “We’ve spent a number of months getting to know Royal HaskoningDHV and its extensive range of offshore wind projects in the UK and Europe. It’s become very clear that there are huge advantages to us in harnessing that knowledge as we seek to create similar energy projects elsewhere. We’re pleased to be taking part in this key event to join the conversation, share our own experiences and learn from other important players in this field.”
