15 Feb 2013Bertrand van Ee, chairman of Royal HaskoningDHV, took on the post of chairing the Export & Promotion team of the Dutch government-designated 'Water Top Sector' on 1 February 2013. He succeeded colleague Frank Heemskerk who is leaving the company on 1 April to become Executive Director at the World Bank.
As chairman of the Export & Promotion team, Mr Van Ee will lead the drive to export Dutch water expertise. Van Ee: "Here in the Netherlands we possess a great deal of knowledge and skill in water and delta technology and in the maritime sector. Smart forms of cooperation between companies, knowledge institutes and the government strengthen our international competitive position and enable us to keep the Dutch water sector healthy."

About the 'Water Top Sector'The international water market is large and is growing rapidly. For that reason the previous Dutch Cabinet designated the water sector as one of several 'Top Sectors' for targeted investment and promotion by the government in association with companies and knowledge institutes. The Water Top Sector team is headed by Hans Huis in 't Veld.
