David Bull has over 15 years’ experience of the maritime sector having worked for Lloyd’s List, Drewry and Braemar Seascope shipbrokers. As a Principal Consultant and Project Manager at OSC, David’s main work lies in providing analysis, market insight for due diligence, economic feasibility and trade and traffic forecasting models. Through his varied background, David has gained significant experience in most sectors of the shipping market, but his main focus is on the energy sector. He specialises in services for the LNG, offshore and liquid bulk markets.
Nishal Sooredoo is a Principal Consultant highly experienced in port economic feasibility and market studies. Prior to joining OSC, Nishal held roles at both Drewry and ARUP, where he was involved in numerous port projects worldwide, covering port developments and transport analysis, market studies, corporate strategy and due diligence. His particular area of expertise lies in the container and dry bulk sectors, notably in Latin America, Africa and Europe. He was the lead commercial advisor for the sale of Goldman Sachs and InfraCapital’s 30% stake in Associated British Ports, for £1.6bn (sell side). Nishal holds an MSc in Maritime Economics and Logistics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Maarten Volgers has over 30 years of experience as a transport economist in the field of maritime, port and transport related studies. Before he joined Royal HaskoningDHV in 1994, Maarten spent 10 years at VOPAK and the Maritime Economic Research Centre/Ecorys as a Maritime Economist. He has worked in over sixty countries on both short and long-term assignments for The World Bank, IBRD, ADB, UN organisations, Port Authorities and Transportation Ministries, and he has also been involved in numerous private client studies in the port, shipping and shipbuilding industry. His main consultancy focus is trade modelling and forecasting, economic and financial appraisals, econometric modelling, trade & traffic forecasting, transportation modelling, logistics, investment appraisals and risk analyses.
Jolke Helbing has over 25 years of experience in the maritime sector including 21 years spent working in various roles and countries for the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Jolke also spent five years as a Consulting Director with ICF International. Among other things he led the winning tender for the development of a $1.5 billion container terminal in Vancouver, Canada for APMT. He is a former board member of the Mobile Container Terminal, Alabama (a JV with Terminal Link and APMT), and joined OSC in 2015 as a Director. His consultancy focus has mainly been on strategic business plans for container ports, related commercial market due diligence and M&A preparations within the port industry including extensive work on commercial agreements and concessions.
Christianne van Dijk
Christianne van Dijk is a Director and Economist at OSC with over 11 years of experience. She specialises in preparing and executing market studies and feasibility studies for maritime projects, both as a subject matter expert and as a project manager. Christianne holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, as well as a degree in Port Management with distinction from North West Kent College/IBC Academy, United Kingdom. She also holds a certification in IPMA-D project management, with distinction.
Patrick van Dijk
Patrick van Dijk is a Financial Advisor and Project Manager in structuring large privately-financed infrastructure projects. With over 15 years of experience in infrastructure and Public Private Partnerships (PPP), he holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Management and an MBA from Nyenrode Business Universiteit (NL). The scope of Patrick’s work includes balancing contributions, risks and returns, designing legal and governance frameworks, structuring financial arrangements and engaging in dialogue with initiators, investors and financiers.
Michiel Nijboer is a senior investment consultant. He holds a MSc degree in Business Economics and has 18 years’ experience in energy and infrastructure. He supports public and private clients by structuring business cases for investment decisions and transactions, preparing and supporting clients during contract negotiations and doing research for market analysis or policy studies.
Jason Chiang is a Director of OSC and is based in Singapore. He is responsible for all maritime consultancy assignments which are based in the Asia Pacific region. He has taken on projects including market studies and buy/sell due diligence as well as strategy work. Jason holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Singapore and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Daisy Apon-Vaessen is an economist, international project manager and consultant with more than 12 years’ experience.
A certified Lloyd’s auditor for quality assurance, Daisy’s work has focused mainly in the maritime and energy sectors for private and public sector clients. Together with her international project management experience, she has expertise in a wide-range of financial disciplines including investment calculation and budgeting, Life Cycle Costing and financial modelling/forecasts (FAST).
Currently based in Dubai, Daisy assists maritime clients in the region by producing business cases, and performing market studies and hinterland analysis. Daisy has worked on projects around the world including the Middle East, West and East Africa and SE Asia and recently she has led a due diligence study including financial modeling for an extension of a port terminal in the UAE.
