With climate change firmly at the top of the world’s economic, social and political agenda, company management must ensure that their businesses are eco friendly and sustainable in order to continue to attract socially conscious customers, staff, investors and business associates.
The CEEQUAL (Civil Engineering and Environmental QUALity) method is an environmental and social assessment designed to improve and demonstrate the sustainability of civil engineering and public realm projects.
An increasing number of projects are choosing to demonstrate and improve their commitment to sustainability using CEEQUAL.
By undertaking a CEEQUAL assessment, projects can demonstrate the measures being taken to ensure the scheme is following environmental best practice, over and above legal compliance. It also ensures that sustainability issues are assessed early in the project, maximising the potential to address more issues effectively. To achieve this questions are answered spanning 12 key sustainability areas, such as project management, energy and carbon, materials, waste management and transport.
If integrated within the whole project life cycle, the CEEQUAL assessment will positively influence the environmental and social performance of the project, improving sustainability and acting as a driver for excellence.
The CEEQUAL assessment will be carried out by Royal HaskoningDHV’s trained CEEQUAL Assessors. Our Assessors calculate and capture the scores as the project progresses, and in addition provide guidance on maximising the final award achievable.
