Integrating hydromorphological and ecological Expertise

We have recently developed new guidance for eel and fish pass solutions associated with small scale impoundments; focusing on easements, nature-like passes and standard (or technical) passes, on behalf of the Scotland and Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research (SNIFFER). We are at the forefront of Water Framework Directive implementation, developing strategies for the future assessment and mitigation of hydromorphological pressures, including impoundments and other physical modifications preventing fish movement.

Our hydroecologists, geomorphologists, engineers and hydrologists are actively working with our clients to improve the water environment for fish, most recently in response to the Water Framework Directive. We cover the full suite of services from strategic planning, feasibility studies and detailed design through to implementation of solutions towards achieving Good Ecological Status or Good Ecological Potential.
