Royal HaskoningDHV’s UK Environment Team is working on four North Sea offshore wind farm Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) with a total capacity of 5,300MW. Two of the projects, East Anglia TWO and East Anglia ONE North are now well progressed with work having started in 2016 on behalf of ScottishPower Renewables. The projects will be around 30km from the shore and each covers over 200km2, with around 70 300m tall wind turbines. When operational in the late 2020’s these two projects will be able to supply over one million homes with clean energy.

East Anglia TWO and East Anglia ONE North continue our successful work with ScottishPower Renewables for whom we earlier consented the 1,200MW East Anglia THREE project. Not only are the East Anglia projects a major boost to green energy but are also providing a massive economic impetus to the east of England and beyond as the first of the ScottishPower Renewables projects now in construction represents an investment of £2.5 billion.

We are pleased to be involved in all elements of the development process for offshore wind providing support for consenting and construction to ScottishPower Renewables. Across our portfolio of projects we are providing support throughout the operational life and are thinking about the longer term decommissioning requirements and the implications for developing new standards and best practices.
