Royal HaskoningDHV has featured strongly in this year’s Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Sustainability Impact Awards 2020, with winners announced at a virtual awards ceremony on Friday 18 September. The annual awards showcase the achievements of organisations striving to tackle the global challenges of the climate and environmental emergency. IEMA is the professional body for everyone working in environment sustainability and the sustainability impact awards recognise best practice and success in the industry.

We are delighted that Kerrie Craig has been announced as the winner of the ‘Future Sustainability Leader’ award, following a shortlist interview earlier in the year.  This award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated commitment to their role, sustainability and innovation.

IEMA judges commented that “Kerrie’s technical and professional abilities are more than matched by her passion and enthusiasm for the environmental sector. She has a clear grasp of what it takes to be a leader, advocating communication, collaboration and listening as the key skills required. She is confident in her approach in tackling the issues that she is in control of, while also having a strong sense of seeing the ‘bigger picture’, and the positive opportunities that can arise in a crisis”.
Royal HaskoningDHV also received ‘Highly Commended’ recognition for the following award submissions:

The Bacton to Walcott Coastal Management Scheme (Jaap Flikweert, Victoria Clipsham, Chris Adnitt). This application highlights our recent involvement in the UK’s first ‘sandscaping’ project, an innovative coastal management technique which uses the power of the sea to mobilise large quantities of sand to provide coastal protection. Our application was developed in partnership with North Norfolk District Council and Team Van Oord.

Digital Steering Group (Georgina Cutler) – a joint submission with 12 other consultancies working to deliver improvement in best practice and consistency for the environment sector.

Recognition through the IEMA Sustainability Impact Awards is testament to our role in delivering sustainable outcomes with our clients and our company mission of  ‘Enhancing Society Together’.
