Royal HaskoningDHV has successfully achieved certification for the new ISO 45001 standard for occupational health and safety management. It is one of the first international engineering consultancies to gain this certification globally, replacing OHSAS 18001. The new certificate applies to all countries where the company has a permanent presence.
Maurits Schaap, Team Lead QHSE at Royal HaskoningDHV: “The health and safety of our staff, our visitors and our partners are of key importance to us. Our management system aims to provide, maintain and continuously improve a healthy and safe working environment. We’re very proud it complies with the new standard. It also shows that health and safety is well-integrated in our organisation and our projects.”
Arjan Veldkamp, business leader at certification agency DNV GL: “Royal HaskoningDHV is one of the first international engineering consultancy firms to accomplish the transition from OHSAS 18001 to the new ISO 45001 standard globally.”
The new ISO 45001 certification is based on earlier international standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001 and International Labour Organization guidelines, standards and conventions.
Royal HaskoningDHV has completed the transition in the first year of a three-year implementation period that organisations have been given to comply with the new standard.
