"As a structural engineer, I’m involved in different kinds of projects where Royal HaskoningDHV is responsible for the structural design. From reinforcement calculations for a water treatment plan to a non-linear calculation of a large building in a finite elements program.
Most activities I’m working on are within the Business Line Industry & Buildings, but as a construction engineer with general engineering knowledge I’m capable of working for different Business Lines within the company as well. The nice thing about Royal HaskoningDHV is that they offer me the opportunity to explore all possibilities to develop myself. Through this I have been working on calculations for several bridge designs, which are part of a large international airport, and experienced working abroad. Combining all these experiences I have a very varying job that offers me challenges and possibilities both within the Netherlands as abroad."
"Within my job as a consultant building physics and acoustics I’m working on a wide variety of projects within multi-disciplinary project teams. Within these teams my responsibility is to contribute to the comfort, safety and health of the interior climate system. One day I’m working on energy simulations, the other day I’m writing an acoustical report or work on daylight studies to ensure a satisfying climate within a building. These buildings vary from offices, residential, airports, data centers and railway stations. Because of the wide variety of activities and projects I’m learning quickly and enjoy my work!
Besides learning on the job, the Young Professional Program helps me to develop my personal soft-skills, project management capabilities and acquisition skills. This is very valuable for my personal development and future career. As a starter within Royal HaskoningDHV you will be entering an organization that has unlimited possibilities for personal and professional development, but you must seize the opportunities yourself!"
"My original background is in architecture. Started at Royal HaskoningDHV a few months ago I already knew I wanted to get to know more about user experience, which is more about the frond-end development of engineering projects. Besides the immediate involvement in projects and responsibilities I get, I also get the chance to find my own way within the organization and develop myself as a professional.
I’m working both as a project manager and consultant within the housing market to find out where my strength and preference is. From the first day, I was involved as a project manager on a large and innovative tech-campus where we are working in a large multi-disciplinary team. As a consultant, I’m focusing on Health and Well-being within the work environment. Together with the client we are focusing on where they are right now, what their ambitions are and which steps should be taken to achieve their goals and deliver value."
"During my time as an architecture student I was working as pizza courier and one day I had to deliver an order at the Royal HaskoningDHV head office in Amersfoort. I was immediately enthusiastic about the architecture of the building and when I heard about their international projects and well-known clients I knew I wanted to work there. Therefore, I didn’t waste any time when I got a job offer to come and work at the Asset Management department.
As an asset manager, I’m working closely together with our clients to evaluate the way they manage their assets and identify possibilities for optimal performance. Helping the client with their challenges and looking for solutions is what I really enjoy doing. Besides this, our clients are located across the Netherlands, which offers me the possibility to travel and experience multiple clients and offices. At Royal HaskoningDHV we have a lot of experience and expertise, whereby there will always be a colleague you can address and learn from. Through this you will meet a lot of new people and expand your network."Hugo Bosscha, Asset Manager
