Being able to be an entrepreneur and face new challenges regularly is why I like working at Royal HaskoningDHV!
After graduating at the Delft University of Technology with a specialization in Urban Metabolism and Smart Cities I was looking for a company to work for that has an ‘out of the box’ mindset. Not only in their work, but also when it comes to the personal development of their employees. I wanted to be able to explore my added value within the building industry and needed trust and freedom in order to do this. Another motivation was to create impact and eventually contribute to a better living environment.
Today, I work as a project manager and consultant at Royal HaskoningDHV in a wide variety of mostly multidisciplinary projects. From project manager of the design and execution of office buildings with new workplace concepts to a real estate manager of several high schools. Not a single day is the same since I meet and work with many different people, within the company as well as at our clients.

The chance to work on a wide variety of projects with enthusiastic colleagues is what convinced me to work for this company.
After graduating at Delft University of Technology in 2015, with an assignment at Royal HaskoningDHV, I got asked to stay at the company as an employee. The reason I decided to stay, was mostly due to the chances I saw to work on a wide variety of projects with enthusiastic colleagues. About three years later, I got what I asked for!
Today, I work as a dry bulk and logistics engineer at Royal HaskoningDHV. Even though this may sound very specific, the variety of projects I have worked on is very large. Sometimes, I work on concept designs or master plans for large-scale logistic chains for products as iron ore or grain. Within these kinds of projects, I make logistic models to determine the required capacities of the equipment on terminals and production sites. In other projects, I act more as a project manager and here I am responsible for successfully improving certain parts of a client’s production site. This is a totally new experience for me, but very rewarding as it gives me the opportunity to develop project management skills I didn’t have before!
The great variety of assignments introduces interesting challenges and ensures that no two days are alike.
In early 2015, I began my adventure at Royal HaskoningDHV as an installation consultant for buildings. In the past three years, I’ve been able to gain experience in different sectors, such as datacentres, airports and healthcare projects. The great variety of assignments introduces interesting challenges and ensures that no two days are alike. Royal HaskoningDHV consistently delivers projects with high quality results, thanks to the company’s depth of knowledge and expertise. Recently, I’ve been managing my own projects with financially and technically integrated teams. In my current project, we are renovating a datacentre to use the residual heat from the datacentre to heat the offices and the restaurant in the same building. Together with the client, we need to work creatively and innovatively in order to successfully deliver the desired result of an energy efficient heating system.
I enjoy going to work every day, and I’m grateful to have gotten the opportunity to develop professionally within Royal HaskoningDHV.
Having the chance to find my own way within the organization and develop myself as a professional is what makes this company unique.
My original background is in architecture. I started at Royal HaskoningDHV a bit over a year ago and already knew I wanted to get to know more about user experiences, which is about the frond-end development of engineering projects. Besides the immediate involvement in projects and responsibilities I get, I also get the chance to find my own way within the organization and develop myself as a professional.
I’m working both as a project manager and consultant within the housing market to find out where my strengths and preferences are. From the first day, I was involved as a project manager on a large and innovative tech-campus where we are working in a large multi-disciplinary team. As a consultant, I’m focusing on Health and Well-being within the work environment. Together with the client we are focusing on where they are right now, what their ambitions are and which steps should be taken to achieve their goals and deliver value.
