PAUL EIJSSEN BIOGRAPHY
Paul Eijssen has been an expert in the Impact Assessment (IA) industry for 27 years.
During this time he has led many IA projects and is a prominent thought leader in the industry striving for the highest quality and optimum value out of the assessment tool.
Paul still loves to write and edit environmental impact statements (EIS’s) and act as a mentor for new professionals entering this field of work.
The sharing of knowledge is important to Paul and he is a knowledge manager for impact assessment within RHDHV and a member of a number of organisations and authorities, including as:
|•||Member of the Dutch Network of Environmental Professionals|
|•||Member of the expert team EA of the professional organization NL-Ingenieur|
|•||Member of the International Association for Impact Assessment|
|•||Full member of the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment and Chartered Environmentalist by Society for the Environment|
Paul has ensured that RHDHV has been present at the annual IAIA conferences for the last eight years.
ABOUT THE DIGITAL EIS AND PAUL’S ROLE
The repeated discussions about the bad image of IA (e.g. thick, text-heavy and technical reports) over the last 10 years at the annual IAIA conference and the lack of improvements triggered Paul to search for solutions and new approaches outside the field of work of IA.
Paul's perseverance to improve, convince management and enthusiasm for people has led to concrete steps that will make IA and the reports much more attractive and accessible. He is still very active in further developing this innovation.
When Paul started a pilot project for the digital interactive EIS with support from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment in The Netherlands in 2016, RHDHV decided to invest in this development as a company because they are convinced of the importance and benefits of this innovation for the industry and the market.
Thanks to the support of RHDHV and our clients and partners, the development of #TheNewEIS will drastically change the image of IA in a positive sense, create greater stakeholder engagement and bring the environment higher up in the agenda for businesses, government authorities and communities.
