As Global Director Water for Industry, Lennart Silvis works to create value through sustainability by improving the financial, social, and environmental performance of the company over time. He says, “The digital revolution is making huge potential available to manage water resources and services more efficiently. Nanco Dolman, Leading Professional in Water Resilient Cities
With an MSc in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (1998) and a BLA in Landscape Architecture from the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture (2008), Nanco Dolman is the Leading Professional in Water Resilient Cities at Royal HaskoningDHV. From 2011 to 2016 Nanco was a part time lecturer in Adaptive Urban Development at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Internationally recognized as a front runner in Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), Nanco specialises in bridging water resilient design and engineering. Currently Nanco is the Water Sensitive City expert for the EU Interreg-funded research project CATCH; 'water sensitive Cities: the Answer To CHallenges of extreme weather events', in the North Sea Region.
Micheline Hounjet, Product Development Flood Resilience
Micheline is a creative connector between various fields of delta technology. With her background as an engineering geologist, she is not only active in the cross-over between technical disciplines, but also focuses on the link between technology and people. She concentrates on innovative solutions to help manage flood risks and increase stakeholder participation in urban planning. During her time as Teamleader Serious Gaming at Deltares, Micheline learned to apply serious gaming techniques in various ways and for various disciplines. An example in the field of Critical Infrastructures networks is the development of the CIrcle-tool in which expert knowledge and experiences are combined to learn about possible cascading effects between networks. Her latest development at Royal HaskoningDHV in which serious gaming techniques are used is STAIN: a multi-stakeholder tool used to design resilience strategies for cities.
Radboud van Kleef, Managing Director Aquasuite®
As Managing Director Aquasuite®, Radboud van Kleef is a strategical thinker. He was appointed to build the Aquasuite team as a new product group within Royal HaskoningDHV, to connect with the right partners, and to help Aquasuite grow internationally. With a unique combination of a solid technical background and strong commercial capabilities, Radboud specialises in business development by designing business roadmaps; and is pragmatic in the execution of operations, delivering value via hands-on involvement. With an international background working and living in Japan (Tokyo) and the USA (Boston), Radboud has in-depth knowledge of various industries including High-Tech, Semiconductor, Manufacturing, IT, Telecom, Financial Services and Advisory.
Michel Riemersma, Associate Director Water Technology International
As Associate Director Water Technology International and project director for specific projects, Michel Riemersma is a civil engineer in drinking water who graduated from TU Delft in 1998. Apart from the years 2005 to 2008, when he worked for water supply company Vitens in the Netherlands, Michel has spent his entire career with Royal HaskoningDHV and its predecessor DHV. Since 2013, he has consulted exclusively to international clients, and is very active in the field of making projects bankable. Michel prepares masterplans and identifies project ideas; develops them, with his team, from the feasibility phase to financial close; assists with the implementation of these projects; and ensures that projects are sustainable during their operation and maintenance phase.
