The Royal HaskoningDHV bursary programme provides financial assistance to deserving students who wish to complete degrees in the field of Engineering.  The assistance applies to undergraduate degrees at accredited South African Universities in the following disciplines:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

The main criteria for consideration are academic potential and financial need. In addition, applicants must meet the following selection criteria:

Grade 12 Scholars

University Students (1st, 2nd and 3rd Year)

Valid South African I.D.

Valid South African I.D.

Subject choice must include Mathematics and Physical Science

National Senior Certificate or Equivalent

Proof of current academic results. A minimum aggregate of 65% is required. A symbol of 5 or above is required for Mathematics and Physical Science

Acceptance by accredited South African University

Registration at an accredited South African University

How to apply

Please complete our online bursary application form via the following link http://rhdhv.bursaries.erecruit.co.za and attach the following supporting documents with your application:

  • South African I.D.
  • Grade 11 results (if you are in Grade 12)
  • Grade 12 results (if you are a university student)
  • Most recent academic results or progress report of all subjects (if no examinations were written)
  • Motivational essay
  • Payslips for your parent(s)/guardian if employed or tax return statement stating income
  • Latest financial statements if your parent(s)/guardian is/are unemployed
  • Sworn affidavits if your parent(s)/guardian is/are unemployed
  • Applications will only be considered if completed in full and if all supporting documents listed above have been submitted.

     The application process opens on 1 July and closes on 31 August 2017.

    National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS)

    Bursary amounts are determined annually and cover tuition related costs (tuition fees and books). Applicants are thus advised to also apply through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to cover any potential shortfall.
