Royal HaskoningDHV’s UK diving services team offers professional engineering and environmental underwater expertise for all coastal, maritime, estuarial, inshore and inland sites in the UK and abroad.

Registered as a diving contractor with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and a full member of the Association of Diving Contractors (ADC), Royal HaskoningDHV diving services employs highly skilled engineers and environmental scientists who are qualified in accordance with the UK Diving at Work Regulations 1997.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience, the team undertakes work in all underwater environments and confined spaces.  Activities range from initial surveys, structural inspections, damage assessments and testing, through to maintenance and repair recommendations, design of works, site supervision and project management.

In particular, the team carries out underwater and confined space activities that include:

Effective planning is essential at all stages to take account of safe systems of work, tidal and weather conditions, shipping movements and the co-ordination of contractors, to enable us to work on many types of installations that include:

  • RNLI stations

The team is also experienced in baseline environmental surveys and monitoring studies relating to dredging, disposal, beach nourishment and reclamation. These can vary from broad-scale baseline surveys to site-specific surveys that establish the sensitivity of particular habitats or species and include:

  • baseline ecological surveys
  • site specific ecological monitoring
  • sensitivity mapping

We also offer a wide range of complementary services linked to our diving activities.  These include: environmental impact assessments, interpretation of echo-sounding, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiling surveys, structural analysis, river and coastal studies, geotechnical investigations, contamination investigations and remediation, as well as mechanical and electrical design.
