BIM (Building Information Modelling) is changing the way we work in our industry, and it is here to stay. Royal HaskoningDHV is embracing this change and is committed to passing on all the benefits to our customers; better solutions, faster delivery times, improved risk management, and better sustainability among many others.
A BIM model is much like building a project in a virtual environment first before any work starts on site. A digital prototype like this helps all collaborators understand the design better, foresee potential risks and problems, and mitigate earlier on. This can significantly reduce or avoid costly remedial works once a project has started.
Working with 4D BIM software like Autodesk REVIT, Royal HaskoningDHV are able to generate detailed and intelligent 3D models to help convey our designs and details. These models can be fed into fully collaborative BIM models which help manage projects more economically, with less environmental impact, and significantly quicker too.
Domestic government policy will soon require suppliers to work with BIM on all publicly-funded projects, and private sector clients are also seeing the added value that BIM can bring to their projects. Royal HaskoningDHV is equipped with the necessary tools and skills to prepare projects for this new and exciting development.
