Various offshore companies have requested Royal HaskoningDHV to identify and optimize the health and safety of its employees and contractors on working their offshore platforms.
Since January 2003, the Dutch Working Condition Act (Arbeidsomstandighedenwet) applies to all activities that are executed within the Dutch part of the Exclusive Economic Zone. This zone is located within 200 nautical miles (370. Km) of the coast of the Netherlands. Offshore companies operating within this area must also meet the requirements of this Act.
The consultants of Royal HaskoningDHV have discussed with these clients the possibility to improve health and safety. Royal HaskoningDHV has executed specific Risk- Inventory and -Evaluations for the offshore platforms. With a specific RI&E, the client will comply to the applicable requirements of the Dutch Working Conditions Act and improve the health and safety of its employees and contractors.
The implementation of a specific platform (RI&E) gives a good insight in the hazards and risks related to occupational safety on the platform.
The findings and recommendations are included in an action plan and implemented in the customer's digital system. The Risk- Inventory and -Evaluation ensures that the employees and contractors can work in a healthier and safer way.
