Designs for a data centre extension were completed in a much shorter timeframe thanks to the knowledge and experience of our integrated team.
Our client is a major global provider of data centres and planned to expand an existing data centre in the Netherlands. Royal HaskoningDHV’s Building Technology team was commissioned to design and specify the building.
While technical specifications for such buildings are important, the critical challenge is to successfully complete the project within the shortest possible lead time, while responding flexibly towards all disciplines involved.
Flexibility, industry knowledge and integration add value
The quick delivery is made possible through our knowledge and experience of the market. The project also benefitted from short lines of communication with our colleagues in Mission Critical Facilities who engineered the electrical technology and mechanical critical infrastructure. This close cooperation ensures the functionality of the finished extension.
“The reduced time period and ensuring that all disciplines are aligned within that time pressure is where we add value. We’re able to do that because we connect all disciplines and because we know and understand the processes and regulations,” explained Niels van den Heuvel, Associate Director and Architectural Lead Engineer. “Flexibility is important too. For our clients in this industry, flexibility to respond to a changing brief is vital.”
