Our client has increased production capacity for convenience foods at its site in Eastern Europe by a factor of 2.5 following an upgrade which optimised logistics and layout. The growing demand for convenience foods led to the need for the global food manufacturer to increase capacity at the plant. Expansion was constrained by land availability and existing infrastructure.

To achieve the required increase within constraints at the site, we explored options for logistics flow and paid particular attention to process automation. Our conceptual design identified the optimal layout and solution.

What was special about our solution was the involvement of teams from Europe and Asia to ensure maximum knowledge transfer from previous projects for the client and full compliance with local legislation. Particular care was taken with halal specifications and sanitary requirements, including allergens.
