To meet fast-rising demand in the South-East Asian beauty market, L’Oréal started the design and construction of a new production facility for skin and hair care products in Indonesia. The entire facility consists of a production plant, packaging building, warehouses, utilities, offices and support buildings. The factory in Jababeka is L’Oréal’s largest factory in the world.
Due to their extensive track record in Indonesia and earlier projects with L’Oréal in China, Royal HaskoningDHV was awarded both the first and second phases of the design, project management, construction management and safety management for the new facility. Besides, we provided services to obtain a LEED certification for the project. The Jababeka plant is the first LEED Silver.
The project site of 120,000 m2 contained an existing factory building of 15,000 m2, which was converted into a production and office building. A new building of 15,000 m2 was added as a packaging facility together with a warehouse of 30,000 m2. The project was completed with entrance facilities, waste water treatment plant, utility buildings, road and drainage system.
