Royal HaskoningDHV is part of a design team commissioned to create a state-of-the-art 500 bed cancer centre at Honliv Hospital at Changyuan in China.
The centre is part of a long-term plan by the Honliv Group to create a sustainable 40 Ha Healthcare City in the province. Healthcare City will include a 500,000m2 treatment area comprising various specialist clinics and 5,000 beds, and an additional 400,000m2 dormitory area for medical staff.
We are designing the facility, which will be used for research, treatment and surgery, in partnership with Dutch Health Architects.
We will deliver our engineering and project management services from our offices in Shanghai and the Netherlands.
The team began preparing the program of requirements, basic design and the conceptual design in May 2013. The aim is to begin construction in 2015 with completion by 2017.
Sander Vorselman, Director of Business Development for international healthcare projects, said: “The result will be a unique cancer centre designed according to European standards, in which the richness of Chinese culture will be combined with state-of-the-art sustainable hospital design.
“We have been doing business in China for more than 30 years. With this project we will use our knowledge and expertise in hospital design to contribute significantly to the improvement of medical health in China.”
