Royal HaskoningDHV was commissioned to carry out a study of the existing sea water intake and cooling water system used at the Udupi Thermal Power Plant located in Karnataka, India.

Our team first conducted a design review, site walkover, an external offshore dive survey and engaged a specialist pipeline inspection company to survey the internal condition of the offshore intake pipelines.

We then identified solutions to remedy the problems with the existing system, followed by preliminary design details for the preferred option, along with a future long-term maintenance plan.

The wide range of expertise from our multi-disciplinary team enabled us to provide the Client with a full service for their entire system, including expertise in marine pipeline design, land pipeline design, hydraulic design, mechanical design, structural design and power plant systems.
