During the construction  period  for  a new 10 Megawatt power station in Qatar, Royal HaskoningDHV were commissioned  by MesiaeedPower  Company  Limited to act as specialist advisor and consultant for the  cooling water Intake  and Outfall system.

The Intake and Outfall pipeline consists of a 2.0m  diameter pipeline (5km long on land and 2km offshore). The Intake  is connected to  an inlet structure located in the Arabian Sea and the  Outfall discharges through a diffuser system.

Our team provided  supervision of dredging activities, installation and offshore diving inspections.  We reviewed the contractor’s design, method  statements and health and safety documents,  and assisted in the development  of Operation and Maintenance manuals for the future  life of the  system.

Our marine  pipelines team enabled the Client to achieve the project  requirements  to  a high quality, and the Contractor  to gain a better understanding of safe, efficient pipeline construction  methods.
