During the construction period for a new 10 Megawatt power station in Qatar, Royal HaskoningDHV were commissioned by MesiaeedPower Company Limited to act as specialist advisor and consultant for the cooling water Intake and Outfall system.
The Intake and Outfall pipeline consists of a 2.0m diameter pipeline (5km long on land and 2km offshore). The Intake is connected to an inlet structure located in the Arabian Sea and the Outfall discharges through a diffuser system.
Our team provided supervision of dredging activities, installation and offshore diving inspections. We reviewed the contractor’s design, method statements and health and safety documents, and assisted in the development of Operation and Maintenance manuals for the future life of the system.
Our marine pipelines team enabled the Client to achieve the project requirements to a high quality, and the Contractor to gain a better understanding of safe, efficient pipeline construction methods.
