Later this month, leaders from the NHS and local government in the UK will gather in London to discuss new, effective models of change in order to tackle the challenges facing the healthcare industry.

Taking place on Tuesday 28th June at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, the Breaking Barriers Summit will see the launch of a new report co-authored by Professor Lord Patel of Bradford OBE and the Rt. Hon Hazel Blears entitled “Breaking Barriers: Building a Sustainable Future for Health and Social Care.”

Dirk Joubert, Consultant Hospitals and Health Care projects at Royal HaskoningDHV has contributed to this ground-breaking report to demonstrate some ways in which the UK can draw upon the Dutch healthcare industry to build a truly sustainable future for health and social care. The report focuses on the benefits of adopting a combined approach between the NHS and local government.

Dirk Joubert commented: “This event will be a great opportunity for leaders of the UK healthcare industry to examine a new model for the way in which the NHS operates. We face the same issues in healthcare wherever we are in the world, and I’m delighted to have been able to contribute to this truly advanced report. I look forward to sharing best practice from across Europe and discussing the future of the industry with attendees.”

The Breaking Barriers Summit has been put together specifically for leaders from the NHS and local government tasked with tackling the challenges facing the industry, providing an opportunity to engage with practical and effective new models of change.
