Royal HaskoningDHV has been shortlisted for three awards under the New Civil Engineer’s NCE100 programme in 2019, which seeks to showcase excellence in civil engineering practice.
Based on employer and employee feedback, the awards rank and reward firms that showcase and inspire civil engineering at its best.
As well as being selected to be an NCE100 company, Royal HaskoningDHV has been shortlisted in three awards:
- Innovation in Project Initiation – recognising our involvement in a coastal defence solution for Bacton Gas Terminal, designed to protect 30% of the UK’s future gas supply and save hundreds of people from losing their homes. Our proposal initiated a far wider project with vital social benefit, extending the initial project into a highly collaborative public-private partnership.
- Impact in Climate Resilience – identifying our innovative, sustainable approach to creating the UK’s ‘climate change resilient town of the future’ in the Wisbech Garden Town project. With ambitious plans for 12,000 new homes in a flood zone, we’re utilising our Dutch expertise to combat the challenges faced by our client.
- Impact in Water – for our development of the innovative, multi-award winning Nereda granular activated sludge wastewater treatment. There are currently 12 UK Nereda projects underway, which will treat over 800K PE. LiMA awarded Royal HaskoningDHV its Blackburn wastewater treatment project on behalf of United Utilities (UU) – the largest of four Nereda projects awarded by UU.
Craig Huntbatch, UK Resident Director at Royal HaskoningDHV commented: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for three awards in this year’s NCE100 programme. They demonstrate some excellent examples of the work we’re currently undertaking here in the UK.
“Both the Bacton and Wisbech projects showcase the pioneering approach we take to solving our clients’ challenges, introducing new techniques and utilising our Dutch expertise in both instances. And it’s fantastic that Nereda has been recognised once again for the impact it is having on wastewater treatment across the UK. We look forward to presenting to the judging panels in March.”
The winners will be announced at the NCE100 Awards ceremony, where the top 100 companies will also be revealed, taking place on 30 April at the Brewery in London.
