A dream come true
Chief Chocolate Officer Henk Jan Beltman: “With the construction of our chocolate factory, our dream comes true. We will be able to show visitors the whole process of chocolate making to create awareness for the inequally divided cocoa industry.”
Royal HaskoningDHV has been appointed to project manage preparations for the new production site and renovation of the warehouse. In close collaboration with Tony’s Chocolonely Royal Haskoning DHV’s role will include master planning, programme of requirements, stakeholder management, tendering and the necessary permits.
The two factories in Zaandam will be producing chocolate and bars in line with Tony’s fully transparent open chain and the whole process will be visible to everyone.
Rollercoaster ride for chocofans
Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Circus will provide a total chocolate experience for an expected 500,000 chocofans every year and includes a rollercoaster ride through the factory. Tony’s hopes visitors will be bowled over by the company’s mission and will join its drive to make 100% slave-free chocolate the norm in the industry. This is at the forefront of everything the organisation does.
National monument Warehouse ‘De Vrede’ will function as Tony’s Chocolonely headquarters. The building will be a public space with restaurants, sports facilities and flex areas for impact organisations.
