On the 28th of March, 2016, Smart City Summit was co-hosted by Binh Duong government, Dutch Consulate General and the City of Eindhoven, Brainport Corporation.

The aim of this Summit to introduce the concept of a Smart City to community, and explain the value of such an approach to Binh Duong New City. By this Summit, the knowledge and expertise from The Netherlands are shown for building cities of the future in Vietnam in which Binh Duong province has fast urbanization rate and wants to use its vast economic potential to design smart models for their city planning. Speakers from Eindhoven City brought to the summit a case study “Development of Brainport Eindhoven” and introduced the Triple Helix concept, the initiation to build relationship between university-industry-government dated backed to the 90s. The Triple Helix is created for innovation and economic development, to transform the Society from Industrial Society to Knowledge Society.  Besides, various corporates also propose solutions for the Smart City model in the conference. 

Attended to “Smart Design” Panel Discussion, “Water Adaptive City” Royal HaskoningDHV’s, Mr. Marten Hillen had presented to the Summit a different view for the smart model which is contributed for a city that will be good-connected, climate resilient, energy efficient and high living standard.
