The Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft has taken the new operation room on the roof of the parking garage into use. The hospital asked Royal HaskoningDHV to design a new operating room which would not be disturbed by the vibrations coming from the parking garage below.
The design consists out of a steel structure on top of spring bearings. By locating the spring bearings at the interface between the car park and operating rooms, vibrations caused by vehicles are filtered out.
