In Amersfoort at Royal HaskoningDHV’s Global Head Office, the new version of the ISO 55002 standard has been launched. This is symbolically done by presenting the ISO 55002 standard by the Chair of the Technical Committee, Rhys Davies and convener Ton van Wingerden (DNV-GL) to Anton van der Sanden, Director of Royal HaskoningDHV NL.

Royal HaskoningDHV is currently hosting the meeting of the ISO Technical Committee who is responsible for the development of the Asset Management System Standards (ISO 55000 series). Some 60 delegates from 25 countries (from all continents) are meeting for a week in several working groups to develop specific parts of the ISO 55000 series. These standards define good practices in Asset Management and requirements for a management system. The standards apply to all types of assets and to all organizations.
Last years the technical committee has worked on the review of the Guidance Document (ISO 55002) and last month the new version was balloted by the several national standardization bodies and was unanimously voted positive. Therefore, this achievement could be celebrated today.

The ISO 55002 is called: Guidelines for Application for ISO 55001. As ISO 55001 is the requirements document and is about the what, the Guidelines document gives best practices on how you can apply the requirements-document and how that will become beneficial for your organisation.
