In Cambodia, Royal HaskoningDHV marked a significant safety record, achieving over 2 million safe man-hours without LTI (Lost Time Injury) on the Bordeaux project site for Cambodia Breweries Limited, a large brewery extension project for Heineken in Phnom Penh.

This is a major achievement which hasn’t been realised on any construction site in Cambodia before, nor on construction sites managed by Royal HaskoningDHV Vietnam in the past. We are currently even approaching the 2.5 million safe man-hours without LTI milestone.

Considering the size of the project (a multiple of structures on an area of 110,000 m2) and the large number of different contractors and people on site (over 1,000), achieving this milestone was a real challenge. The keys to this success were teamwork, timely and effective intervention with a variety of tools, i.e. toolbox sessions and safety walks, and safety rewards for all the workers and site management of all contractors involved. The Royal HaskoningDHV site team, and in particular our on-site safety management team, deserve all the credits for this great achievement.

For the Bordeaux project, Royal HaskoningDHV has been awarded the full scope of EPCM services. The completion of the project has been scheduled for August 2016.
