Royal HaskoningDHV subsidiary Ocean Shipping Consultants is set for recognition at the 16th annual TRANS Middle East conference and exhibition which is running from 29 to 31 January.

Principal Consultant Nishal Sooredoo is part of the conference agenda, which has an overall focus this year on automation and digitalisation in Smart Ports.

Nishal is speaking at the event, with his session entitled ‘Global perspectives in regional trade: trends and economic growth.’ He also takes the role of conference moderator on the second day of the conference.

Nishal commented: “I’m very much looking forward to the event, at an exciting time for the shipping industry. New technology presents vast opportunities to operate more economically and more sustainably, but also creates a number of new challenges for operators.

“During my presentation, I will give a summary of recent trends in the ports and shipping market, with a focus on the impact that these are having on terminal operators. We’ll explore how they are adapting the way they work in order to face those new market dynamics.

“The Middle East is an integral part of the global shipping market and I look forward to focusing more specifically about the current and future regional port structure in the Persian Gulf, including port volumes, current and future port market structure in the Arabian Gulf.”
