The 2nd edition of InterFLOOD Asia is taking place from 27-28 March in Singapore. Climate change and floods pose a threat to human life, critical infrastructure and economic operations, especially in complex, high-density, urban environments.

At the INTERFLOOD Asia we’ll discuss digital and engineering solutions to the impact of extreme weather & climate change related flooding.

InterFLOOD 3: Innovations in ‘smart’ or ‘digital’ approaches to flood mitigation, management & resilience.

Hanneke Schuurmans will be speaking on ‘Blue labelling’ to highlight weather related flood risks.

28 March 14.30-15.30

Hanneke Schuurmans will be chairing session InterFLOOD 5: Putting water at the heart of urban planning.

Topics will be:

  • Water and cities; coping with floods, droughts and pollution. Prof. Alan Jenkins, Deputy Director, Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH)
  • Planning for flooding within a city water resilience framework. Dr. Mark Fletcher, Global Water Leader, Arup
  • Cloudburst resiliency: Innovative solutions to heavy rainfall and coastal flooding. Henrik Søgård Olsen, Global Spearhead Director (Climate Adaptation & Landscape), Ramboll

She’ll also participate in the ‘Grand Closing Debate’.
