18 Apr 2016Royal HaskoningDHV experts share their healthcare insights at the 24th Congress of the International Federation of Hospital Engineering.
Two Royal HaskoningDHV experts in the healthcare industry are delivering keynote speeches at the 24th Congress of the International Federation of Hospital Engineering (IFHE), which takes place from 18-20 April 2016 in The Hague, The Netherlands.
This year the Congress will focus on ‘Sharing knowledge for a better healthcare world’. As part of the programme, the IFHE are hosting a number of keynote speakers who will inform and challenge delegates on how technology can help us achieve more efficient and effective care.
Dirk Joubert, Business Development Manager on hospital and healthcare projects at Royal HaskoningDHV, will explore the vital role that logistics plays in a hospital setting. Required across numerous processes involving goods, patients and staff, logistics must be planned as efficiently as possible. By optimizing the planning and design of hospitals, we can help to provide sustainable hospitals for both patients and staff. Dirk will explore the use of tools that can aid the design process, which help the client visualize the end-result, as well as save time and money.
Ruben Peeters is the Business Development Manager for healthcare at Royal HaskoningDHV. Together with Efthimia Pantzartzis and Andrew Price from Loughborough University in the UK, Ruben will discuss how people living with dementia can be better cared for by the environments in which they live. The three speakers will cover the transition from health and social care buildings to user-needs orientated environments, comparing the evidence-based care environments in the UK with the living and care needs in residential care homes in the Netherlands. This cross comparison of both the demand and supply sides of the built environment demonstrated evidence that the needs and an increase in the quality of life of the user should drive the design of effective and efficient built environments.
