The Koning Willem I Award is presented every two years to the Dutch company that demonstrates the most daring, vigour, sustainability, perseverance and good entrepreneurship. Royal HaskoningDHV is one of the three nominees in the large company category. The other two are AFAS Software from Leusden and Eska from Sappemeer. According to the jury, all the nominees stood out due to their innovative and dynamic approach. Martin van Pernis, Board Member of the Koning Willem I Foundation, referred to Royal HaskoningDHV as ‘a company that delivers amazing projects’.
DARING, VIGOUR AND SUSTAINABILITY
Together with clients and partners, Royal HaskoningDHV works on smart solutions for future-proof cities, airports and ports, buildings, transport, industry, energy, water and drinking water worldwide. The company demonstrates vigour and sustainability for social themes like the energy transition. Using the online tool 'Fastlane’, for example, they are working together with Artis to create a fossil fuel-free zoo in 2030. Daring and perseverance are reflected in impressive projects such as the most modern airport in the world, Mexico City Airport, and innovative, often digital solutions such as the cloud-based traffic management system Flowtack, which ensures optimal traffic flow, better quality of life and lower CO2 emissions in cities.
KONING WILLEM I AWARD
The Koning Willem I Award will be presented in Nijmegen, European Green Capital 2018, on 28 May. The Koning Willem I Foundation has been presenting the Koning Willem I Award since 1958. Previous winners of this business award were Philips and Friesland Campina. The Koning Willem I Award is actively supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
